Choosing finish by environment

  • Zinc plated: dry indoor timber work.
  • Hot-dip galvanized: outdoor decks, fencing, farm buildings and construction timber.
  • Stainless A4: coastal sites and treated timber where corrosion risk is higher.

Installation notes

Drill a clearance hole through the fixture and a smaller pilot hole in the timber, then drive the screw with a wrench. Size the pilot hole and the embedment to the timber species and the design load.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a lag screw and a coach screw?

They are the same type of product. Lag screw is the common US term; coach screw is the common UK and Australian term.

What wrench fits a 10 mm DIN 571 screw?

A 17 mm wrench. The head height is about 7 mm.

Do lag screws need a pilot hole?

Yes, in most timber. A pilot hole stops the wood splitting and lets the thread bite cleanly.

What is the MOQ for DIN 571 lag screws?

Reference MOQ is 500 pcs per specification. This product is made to order, so lead time and price are confirmed with each quotation. We reply to every RFQ within 2 working hours.
