Typical published drill hole sizes
Published values from one maker's resin anchor studs. Other resin systems specify different hole sizes, so follow the data of the resin actually used. On your order, the resin and stud data sheets supplied govern.

Choosing grade and finish
- Class 5.8 zinc plated is the common general-purpose stud for indoor use.
- Class 8.8 is used where the resin's approved load needs a stronger steel element.
- Hot-dip galvanized studs for outdoor and damp locations; nuts must be tapped oversize.
- Stainless A4 for coastal, pool and chemical environments.
- The stud, resin and installation together form the anchor; load values come from the resin system's data or approval, not from the stud alone.
Chemical vs mechanical anchors

|---|---|---|
| Expansion stress | None | Yes |
| Edge and spacing distance | Smaller | Larger |

| Hollow masonry | Yes, with mesh sleeves | Sleeve anchor only |

Frequently asked questions
What size hole for an M12 chemical anchor stud?
Typically 14 mm, but follow the resin manufacturer's data for the exact hole diameter and embedment.
Why do chemical anchor studs have a chisel point?
The 45° chisel point helps push the stud through the resin and spread it evenly as the stud is rotated into the hole.
Is resin included?
No. Studs are supplied with nuts and washers. If you need resin, tell us the system or approval required.
What is the MOQ for chemical anchor studs?
Reference MOQ is 500 pcs per specification. Standard sizes typically ship in 10–15 days and made-to-order sizes in 25–30 days, confirmed with each quotation. We reply to every RFQ within 2 working hours.
