Typical published sizes
Published values for common metric drop-in anchors. The hole is drilled to the anchor's outside diameter; some makers use 15 mm and others 16 mm for M12, so match drill bits to the anchor actually supplied. On your order, the technical data sheet of the anchor supplied governs.
| Thread | Outer Ø (mm) | Length (mm) | Usable thread depth (mm) | Inquiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M6 | 8 | 25 | 10 | Quote this size |
| M8 | 10 | 30 | 14 | Quote this size |
| M10 | 12 | 40 | 15 | Quote this size |

Installing correctly
- Drill to the anchor's outside diameter and at least its length; clean the hole.
- Drop the anchor in (lip on the surface for lipped types).
- Drive the setting tool until its shoulder touches the anchor; this pushes the plug down and expands the shell.
- An anchor that is not fully set can pull out under load, so the setting tool is part of the order.
- Use a bolt or rod long enough to engage the full usable thread depth, but not so long that it bottoms on the plug.

Frequently asked questions
What size hole for an M10 drop-in anchor?
Drill to the anchor's outside diameter, commonly 12 mm for M10. Check the supplier's data for the exact size.
What is the difference between lipped and lipless drop-in anchors?
A lipped anchor has a collar that sits on the concrete, so it always sets flush and cannot drop too deep. A lipless anchor can be set below the surface, which suits holes drilled slightly deep or where the fixture must sit tight to the concrete.
Do I need a setting tool?
Yes. The setting tool drives the plug the correct distance. Order one per installer per size.
What is the MOQ for drop-in anchors?
Reference MOQ is 500 pcs per specification. Standard sizes typically ship in 10–15 days and made-to-order sizes in 25–30 days, confirmed with each quotation. We reply to every RFQ within 2 working hours.
